Curriculum and Teaching

A child-centered approach using developmentally appropriate Learning Centers, we explore new concepts through hands-on experiences such as language, dramatic play, science & discovery, music, & creative art.

PreK is by definition a preparatory class for Kindergarten.  Using school district kindergarten-readiness guidelines, teachers plan activities to build skills, knowledge, & a love of learning in each child.

Preschool classes focus primarily on basic skills such as colors, shapes, counting, building vocabulary, social skills, & following directions.

Each child needs a complete change of clothes to keep at school.  ¾-day & full-day students also need a fitted crib sheet & a small blanket for rest-time in a bag/soft-sided backpack.

Backpacks are sent home each weekend so bedding may be laundered before the next week.

CCP provides 2 snacks per day, morning & mid-afternoon. Children need to bring a nutritious lunch from home on a daily basis or they can purchase our hot lunch
program from The Lunch Mob Co.

*All-school Chapel meets every other Monday & Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

Our caring & qualified staff of early childhood professionals is dedicated to developing each child to their full potential through fun &

challenging learning experiences, nurturing & encouraging each one.

Most teachers have completed, or are currently enrolled in, a Bachelor's Degree program with an emphasis in child development.  
All teachers are trained in Pediatric CPR & First Aid, & attend educational workshops to continue professional development.
